Specifically, puzzles on this obelisk face?
If not, you might want to first solve the first 3 symbols on this face.
When you solve the first 3 symbols on this face, you'll notice that, together, they form a shape similar to this one.
You might have even tried finding a new place to stand so you could trace this shape while on top of the shipwreck.
No luck, right? Also, the path seems to always head the wrong direction. Symbols 1, 2 and 3 seem to go right to left while sloping downward (counter-clockwise).
But this shape is clearly drawn clockwise!
-
That's a good summary of your problem:
Standing on top of the ship, looking downward, the shape seems to go counter-clockwise rather than clockwise.
-
You'll use those same gashes in the ship to solve this puzzle, but you have to look at them from the other side. From below.
The only way to get below them is to ride the little boat beneath the shipwreck.
Go slow, look upward for a good starting circle, and as you're moving, you'll be able to trace the whole clockwise shape.
If you have to go back and forth a few times, you can just stop the boat in the water and reverse its direction to try again.

Roll over each black area below for hints.
Each new hint gives away more than the previous one.
Intro
This one is most rewarding if you first solve it logically by looking at the symbol.
Can you think of any way to "reverse" what you're seeing?
Maybe find a way to look at it the "opposite" way?
What could be the opposite of standing above the path looking down?
Is there a way to look at these gashes in the ship from directly below?
Big hint: It doesn't involve walking downstairs, or anywhere on the shipwreck itself.
Show hints
It is also possible to stumble onto by accident, but these hints will assume you're trying to solve it "logically."
